God’s Providence

it's odd how we don’t think about providence much. we just take a lot for granted. consider the people in noah’s day. they took a bit too much for granted. and then one day it started to rain. it takes something big to make us realize that God is- in control and that He has a plan for us. reading about people like Joni Eareckson is helpful, but i don’t know how much that really affects us. you think about it, though, if someone you’re close too gets some kind of serious health problem, or dies, or your house burns down, though. all of a sudden the fact that God is watching over you and has you in His Hands becomes very important. i remember how it was after my oma had a stroke last november. it was a comfort to remember then that God was working out His Will in our lives, even though we live so far away and may never see her again. Romans 8 may be meant more for those who are persecuted, but oh! how wonderful it is to those who just have common, everyday problems too!
