i've been doing some searching for 'lao gai' on the internet. the stuff is pretty hard to find. i guess china keeps a firm hold on most of that info. It has bothered me ever since i first read 'The Great Divide' by T. Davis Bunn, which is in part about the lao gai prison factories. do we keep buying products made there? does it hurt the workers, not just the owners, when we boycott them? i can never decide. and it's pretty hard not to buy things made in china, or to know if the things you're buying were made in normal factories, where the people are payed, although very little, or if the items were made in a loa gai factory. any thoughts?
btw, we are reading all the Randy Alcorn, Larry Burkett, and T. Davis Bunn novels we can get our hands on. some of the T. Davis Bunn ones are romantic novels, which we skip, but esp. the lawyer ones are the best! and Randy Alcorn, in spite of his ideas about heaven, is one of the best writers around. and the heaven parts i don't mind. who says heaven is like that? but who says it isn't? it's far beyond what he or i could imagine, so i don't mind reading what he thinks it might be like. and Larry Burkett's 'The Illuminati' is really really good.
LOL. 'scuse me for ranting. i think i'll go to bed. maybe getting enough sleep this week should be on the top of my 'To Do' list, since I'll be working weird hours at my new job. i'm also taking basic First Aid and CPR starting next Tuesday. so it will be busyish after wednesday night. lol. a nice change from my current sedentary job. :D
